Expert:Paul Littlefair BA HonFCOT FRSB

Paul Littlefair graduated in modern Chinese studies from Leeds University (1984).
He studied and worked in both China and Japan before in 1998 joining the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA).
In 2012 he was promoted to Head of International, overseeing strategies for around twenty countries in Europe, Asia and Africa.
In China Paul has worked with the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences to promote sustainable agriculture and farm animal welfare, and with the Chinese Association of Laboratory Animal Sciences to promote lab animal welfare and ethical review.
Since 2008 he has worked closely with leading Chinese policy advisers and academics on drafting China’s first ever anti-cruelty legislation. He also works to promote animal welfare education programmes in China.
Paul is an Honorary Fellow of the College of Teaching and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Biology.
