Deputy Administrator Craig Morris from USDA visited ICCAW

Mr. Craig Morris, Deputy Administrator of Agricultural Marketing Service, United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) visited International Cooperation Committee of Animal Welfare (“ ICCAW”). Both sides held talks in warm and friendly, and Mr. Morris gave lectures.


 


 

Mr. Craig Morris has been the person who is in charge of ISO's American Animal Welfare since 2012. ISO currently has 163 member countries in the world. ISO specification, Animal welfare management – General requirements and guidance for organizations in the food supply chain (“Specification”), is officially released on December 1, 2016 after four years of drafting work. The development of the Specification began in 2012. ISO established the Animal Welfare Working Group named ISO/TC 34/WG 16, 130 experts from 35 member countries, in 2014. ICCAW was formally recognized as liaison in China of the ISO / TC34 / WG 16 Animal Welfare Working Group in early 2016.), the Secretary General of Ayongxi was identified as a liaison officer and participated in the development of the Specification in September 2016. Mr. Ayongxi participated in the final validation of the Specification in Paris in September 2016.


 



A Yongxi Secretary General introduced the development of ICCAW. Wen Dusu, Executive Vice President served as a translator for both parties.
